⸺ Synopsis

Valstagna, in the province of Vicenza, is a town at the bottom of the narrow valley of the Brenta river. The landscape is a continuous embroidery of terraces. The dry stone walls have allowed the inhabitants to live clinging to the steep walls of the mountains, managing to obtain tiny handkerchiefs of arable land. Once the main cultivation was that of tobacco which today has been almost completely abandoned. Only a few elders try to keep this heroic culture alive, made up of a lot of manual work, toil and sweat.
